Scorching Day and Cheerful Kota Summer Festival 2007

Kota town is located in Aichi prefecture. It is such a place surrounding by mountains. Every summer, it celebrates the Kota summer festival. I have a chance to join this festival last year and this year during the summer season.

Young people enjoy wearing summer clothes which fit with their summer sandals. It is not more than just a look but represents a real sense of a scorching day with a cheerful summer occasion. This festival is like a mixed-cultural event which we can feel the culture from different countries. Unforgettably, Cambodian Student Association in Nagoya has made its best to tighten the friendship of culture and culture, people and people and country and country between Cambodia and Japan. Kota association has invited Cambodian students in Nagoya to perform Khmer traditional dance every year. Some good shots at the event are worth seeing and remembering.

The Value of Money?

What is the real value of Money? Some people think that money is important while the others deny it. Some say money is the root cause of evils and so on. People work for money. People do daily activities because of money. Some people get married because of money and some cannot get married because they do not have money neither. Workers try very hard each day because they want money to support themselves or their families. Fathers try to work to get some financial stability in families. Mothers also help just to find money for the families and sometimes they need help from their children just to find money.

After you graduate, you wish to work and have high-paying stable job.. If you get hungry and you cannot find something to eat by yourself, you need money otherwise you will die. A couple who just newly married try to work hard just to save money. You are poor or rich when you are calculated and measured by money. What is worse, some families decide to divorce because of the poverty from husband or wife. Money bring people apart. Money make you kill and make you steal. Money make you proud and the more you have the more you greedier, but the less you have the more you want it. Some young handsome men need money to drink alcohol or to go to night clubs. Some beg you for money. Some commit crime such as kidnapping, robbing etc just for money. When you get sick, if you don’t have money, you probably say goodbye to the world very soon.

Money is like a beautiful angel or girl;

Everyone need it and put it in the pocket or purse;

People are happy when you are with them;

So, why cannot you make this world a more wonderful place to live for some people?

Some people say money is everything some say money isn’t everything. Whatever stand you take, something can be for money but not everything. Money has its value, and everyone also has their own value. The question is does the value of money bigger than individual value?. Therefore, we can make a small logic that when you think that money is most valuable= your value<money. Now, you become a slave. If your value > money= your dignity cannot be measure by social materials or money.

Today’s society, money is needed to have some kind of quality of life. No one want to be under or have less value than someone else. Everyone should be clear that what is valuable to them. Money is not everything, but it just something. Then, do something that you should deserve money not do something just for money.

If u Love him, he will try to LEAVE u.(very true huh?)

If u tell him your PROBLEM, he says u are TROUBLESOME;

If u don’t, he says that u don’t TRUST him.

If u SCOLD him, u are like a NANNY to him;

If he SCOLDS u, it is because he CARES for u.

If u BREAK your PROMISE, u Cannot be TRUSTED;

If he BREAKS his, he is FORCED to do so.

If u SMOKE, u are BAD girl;

If he SMOKES, he is GENTLEMAN.

If u do WELL in your exams, he says it’s LUCK;

If he does WELL, it’s BRAINS.

If u HURT him, u are CRUEL;

If he HURTS u, u are too SENSITIVE!!

SO HARD TO PLEASE!!!!!

To be born as a human being, it is quite hard. How hard is it? Please imagine that you throw a small needle into the sea somewhere and let another to find it. Buddhism teaches that to be born as a human being it is harder to find that needle at the bottom of the sea. Therefore, those who commit sin will never born as human being in stead born as animals, tree etc. That is why everything has life. Do good deed, you will receive good. Don’t kill, Don’t drink alcohol, don’t have sex, Don’t steal wife from other persons etc. but boy friend or girl friend should be ok. Just kidding!

Can you do that?

When in rome, do as the romans do!

Privatization of love

Can love be privatized? Yes. Wait!! Don’t misunderstand me!

The shadow of darkness remains alive in 21st century. The developing world finds their ways to survive. Some of them try to join WTO for the purpose of economic development; some are trying to do legal reforms in the country. How much this effort means if one country is even unable to give good care to a little child? Children around the world nowadays are being ignored. Governments are unable to give love to them, especially for the street children.

Love service of children should be privatized to NGOs or other organizations so that those organizations can give them proper future. Governments, commune councils should play more important roles to work especially with NGOs to take the best care of those PITY AND LOVELY STREET CHILDREN.

Family must be together, no matter what happen!

One angle

Pictures are priceless. Although you hear a thousand times, it is not as equal as you just see it once.

It was initiated by one professor. Know him? he is in the picture too. The time I was there he taught in many private universities. He gathered students and raised money to buy some study materials such as books, pencils, erasers and rulers etc. for the orphans, street children and children in the communities. We headed to one orphanage center in the city ( forgot the name) and gave those stuffs to them. We were excited to do so and also happy to meet them. After that we continued to one local area to meet local people and children down there. When we reached there, it was also almost time for lunch. “Let’s prepare, don’t we?” Some of us cooked the rice, some ” slor”, some were responsible to fine lotus or banana leaf and so on. We really had typical Khmer food. So yummy!!!

After lunch time, we got to do something in the community. We made small group and taught those children about sanitation, gave them encouragement for their future life, asked them what they wanted to be and tell them the way to reach there. We told them not to quit school and dared to talk to their parents if their parents need them to do something during the school time. We tried to attach ourselves to them just to let them know that they are not alone, we are with them.

Let look at another part of the world. How many big problems is the world encountering? terrorism? poverty? global warming? the rising of oil price? or anything else? I think that ” unequal opportunity” should be taken into consideration. Everyone should have accessed to basic opportunity to support their basic life such as the access of human rights, jobs, good state’s education system joys and dignity in the society. These things should be guaranteed by the states or the local governments. However, we should not ignore the fact that in transitional society, poverty or unequal opportunity is a normal phenomenon, especially in globalization world which required competition among every individuals. Now if a poor country lives in global market, every individual in that society has to compete with each other for advantages. Let imagine if you cannot get access to equal opportunity like others, you will be exploited by elite groups unless you got an opportunity to fight back. if you don’t have that opportunity, what will you do? Think about it!

Jumping toothpick is a science

Here we go!!! a couple of days ago, I got an idea to lean magic online. Talking about magic, it reminds me of several years in the past, there were usually a group of magicians came to show off their talents in front of people in my village, and I always want to know something about that because it is seem to be a mazing. What I doubt so far is how those magicians make the jumping toothpick by just put one on the another and it jumps up. Now, I got it. When I knew the secret, it is quite simple and everyone can perform that trick quite easily. It is just a hidden science. What a magician does is holding one toothpick firmly with your thump and pointing finger, and create vibration by rubbing down the toothpick with middle finger nail. With the vibration you create, when you place another toothpick on it, it will jump up. If you never know the secret, you will never have an idea of what to do, don’t try. It is such a wast of time, unless you know the secret!
